2008+ Mode Door Actuator (defrost/floor) removal/install

Item - Part Number - Description
1 - (part of 19D887) - Defrost/panel/floor mode door actuator electrical connector
2 - (W701696) - Defrost/panel/floor mode door actuator screw (2 required)
3 - (19E616) - Defrost/panel/floor mode door actuator

Removal and Installation

NOTE: The defrost/panel/floor mode door actuator can be accessed from below the LH side of the instrument panel.

1. Disconnect the defrost/panel/floor mode door actuator electrical connector.

2. Remove the 2 defrost/panel/floor mode door actuator screws.
* To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).

3. Remove the defrost/panel/floor mode door actuator.

4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

I replaced mine per these instructions but it makes a ratcheting sound when I go to floor mode. The old one had a broken gear. The linkage all seems to move freely.. Puzzled... Help :?

Hello
I would like to add by pulling the drivers seat you can lay on your back and it's a 3 minute job with a air ratchet.
Unless your Reed Richards of coarse LOL.
