So I may be inheriting/reposessing/otherwise start driving a 2005 Sport Trac v6 2x4 XLT

It's recently recieved new tires (GY Forterres I think), some body work, and most recently a 2nd water pump replaced in 2.5-3 years.

If I'll be keeping said vehicle, before I go off searching for a new forum to bother, I mean discuss with, any insight to this model? Know issues, thinks to look for, need to take care of, etc?

Found the original window sticker, and wow 29K, that's a tad more than my Li'l was!

Thanks again ya'll!

Hope your not tall like I am. I really like the look of the Sport-Trac, but first time I got in one I bopped my head on the ceiling, and was immediately displeased with the interior. I think it's all cause I'm 6'4" though, if your under that it should be comfortable.

Congratulations if you end up with it, those are sharp looking trucks in my opinion. :thumb:

Thanks. It's a long story. Short version is, brother in law - inheritance from FIL death = 'new' truck. BIL being stupid now might = no truck...

It's is sharp, it's monochromatic black, sorta like this, but with black lowwe front bumper.

Also, just got to thinkning, I was thinkning of getting snow tires for my Expy this year, maybe I'll just throw those Foreterra's on L'il! Mine is a 235 70/16 the GY's are 255 70/16's... Hummmmm Wonder how the bolt patterns line up too? If they match, they'te definatly going on in the fall!

Congratulations! :thumb:

It is a great truck, my Gfs dad's had one, really confortable, and it behave good in the mud. However he was always complaining of the poor fuel economy it had, It was 4.0 V6 2008, i don't recall exactly but i believe he was getting something around 16-18km/g, about 10-11 mi/g. He drove mostly in the city, but ended up trading it for a Nissan Navara diesel (I believe in the US is not available, is a Pathfinder based pick up) due this issue.

Yes they are nice, my friend had one of those, the V8 gets better mpg and its got some very good low-range torque. I will admit they did a restyle in 05 and then in 07 and both years are good model years. They are also very safe. enjoy it.
