I have a 2011 XLT with the stock sound system and was wondering if anybody else has a problem with the door handles and other bits shaking violently with the bass turned all the way up. I know my car doesn't have the factory sub and have searched all over (without removing interior panels) and can't seem to find a sub. Is the stock system just that powerful?

Bro, you just don't have your music turned up loud enough so you can't hear the rattles
lol

I have gone through a car and secured all rattling/vibrating bits… The more powerful the system is, things start unscrewing themselves, I believe, with the vibration

I am serious, I have stuck lock washers on all kinds of nuts and bolts, used bits of rubber vacuum hose as vibration dampeners…
You can get way into this

XLT standard is the 4 speaker setup. There is an optional 7 speaker Premium Sound that has a sub in the cargo area. With the premium sound there are a lot more watts, and the speakers are more componentized and more bass from the door speakers since it has separate tweeters.

My Fusion has the OEM Premium Sound with 11 speakers, and the door speakers make the doors rattle if the windows are down, it has gotten progressively worse as I listen to the radio at higher volumes for longer times.
