I go this car about a year ago and since then ive noticed that my gas is draining fast. for example, i'll drive 2-3 miles and loose around 10 miles worth of gas. previously i was getting around 9-10 mpg however since ive patched up my exhaust leak i am getting around 13.5 mpg. i have also gotten my air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, maf sensor, o2 sensor, transmission fluid, and all 4 brakes changed. before i was getting very low mpg around 9-10 but now that it has gotten better ive got this new problem where the car is draining gas way too fast.
any advice on what i should do would be appreciated.

Thank you,
p.s i am collecting this data from the dashboard not calculating at the pump, tho i am going to the gas station often to fill up.

You must calculate your gas mileage by using actual gas pumped compared to actual miles driven. IOW, don't go by the dash calculations. Assuming you have the correct size tires, double check your odometer is logging the correct miles driven.

Also, the car's estimated range is a very poor way of gauging how much fuel you are using. Your estimated range until the next fill by your dashboard may drop an indicated 10 miles for only 5 miles driven, but that info is essentially useless, so ignore that. Check your car's odometer for accuracy against highway markers, and assuming it is accurate, divide your actual miles by the actual amount you pump into your tank. Do this three times and divide by three. That is your gas mileage, not the mileage the dash display tells you.

Now, as for the V6, it's not great on gas. It just isn't. It's a very reliable and long lived motor that is very smooth and has just enough power, but remarkably efficient it's not. I have an 05 and had an 04 with the same motor, and they both averaged around 17 suburban (not bumper to bumper city traffic) and maybe 23 on the highway if I peddled it easy. Those numbers are for summer blend fuel. Where I am, they switch to "winter" blend and I lose 2 mpg the week they switch, so about 15 during the winter months around town.
