So at the dealer yesterday taking sis-in-law in to pick up her edge from service, so I browsed the lot. They had an 09 FEH limited & 1 10 FEH Limited; several xlt, xls, etc, but on the row of 10's none of them had any side badges at all! No V6, no Leaf, not even an Escape!
2nd, on the back one of them had a Flex Fuel badge, the rest did not?!

So did Ford de-badge all 10's?
When did Flex Fuel start, and what models get it?

all 09 did not have the flex fuel capability... so that's why no flex fuel badge...

i got an '10 escape xlt and have only flex fuel and escape on the tail gate there is no v6 or 4wd on it anywhere, nothing on door (like before escape logo in front doors) or fender that has v6 badge on fenders.

are you sure they dont have anything on the tail gate?

i added 4wd myself on the rear...

Yes, the tailgate is the only badge I saw.

Wonder why? I hope not to save $2/vehicle, but X how many hundred thousand made it does add up...

Or it's to transistion into the Kuga name........

conspirieies...

To me, badges just clutter things up, and collect dirt. My 08 had too many badges on the side IMO. Badges on the rear don't bother me, but the side ones are a paint to clean/wax around.

My 2010 XLT AWD has only 2 emblems - Recessed ESCAPE on the front bumper and the silver one the rear that lists the "Escape XLT" similar to gbrown69's. No mention of AWD or 4WD anywhere. I too like the debadged look. In fact I need it to get warmer out so I can remove the dealer sticker from the rear. I will have to hit it with Goo-Gone/IPA and then wax it.

on my side... i've warned the dealer at time of purchase not to put any dealer decals anywhere on the car...
the only thing i would accept is maybe a rear license plate holder with the dealer name on it but NO decals...
so they did and i have no decals on it... nor license plate holder.. :D

There was an article, that I cannot find now, basically outlining why Ford took off the V6 badges. They were there for the 08 model year and dropped from 09 and up. The reason had to do with gas prices at the time and how it was no longer PC to taut the V6 badge because it implied you were not being economically friendly. I had to laugh when I read it. The escape badge on the front doors disappeared at the same time...though there was no explanation in the article as to why.

oh...and the 3.0L is flex fuel. That is the only exterior way to tell the 2.5L from the 3.0L. Same with the Fusion.

I kinda want to switch the 4WD emblem for the 4x4 emblem off an Explorer. I think those look cooler.

yeah maybe but the escape is not really a 4x4 vehicle as you can't switch from 2wd to 4wd manually... escape is more an intelligent all wheel drive vehicle... at least for the newer escapes...
