INSTRUMENT PANEL - CENTER FINISH PANEL
REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

2. Lower the glove compartment.
- Press the glove compartment release tabs inward while pulling downward on the glove compartment.

3. Disconnect the temperature control cable.
(1) Position the locator pin.
(2) Release the locking tab.
(3) Remove the temperature control cable from the blend door shaft.

4. Remove the instrument panel center finish panel.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.

Squishy's note: I highly advise you to place a rag across the bottom of the vinyl dashboard opening (circled above) to avoid scratches from three metal clips on the rear side of the finish panel.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Maybe apply masking tape there to avoid the scratches?

So, the finish panel just pulls straight off?
Kinda like the center console trim panels?
Thanks.

I think those clips would cut right through masking tape - they are fairly sharp for some reason.

The surround just pulls off.

Thank you. I mentioned tape because it seems like it might be a tad difficult to hold something in place while yer trying to pull the panel off. I'm not a big fan of duct tape, but several layers might work - maybe not - I'll find out if I ever pull the thing off. hee.

Duct tape would probably work if you don't get the really thin type. The rag just slips into the opening and stays there by itself.
