OASIS
You must use OASIS to determine if a vehicle is eligible for this Special Service Instruction.

PLEASE NOTE:
Promptly correct all affected vehicles at your dealership and other eligible vehicles which are brought to your dealership within the applicable 36 month / 36,000 mile warranty.

Parts will not be direct shipped for this recall. Order your parts requirement through the Recall Hotline (1-800-325-5621). Parts will be shipped Priority Next Day delivery, beginning the week of August 21, 2000 once sufficient quantities of parts are available at the PDCs.

NOTE:
Removed parts must be mutilated and properly scrapped to prevent their use on another vehicle.

Attachment III - Technical Information
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Remove one (1) front engine support bracket bolt and install a lifting eye. See Figure 1.


2. Install and support the front of the engine with a support hook attached to a 3-bar engine support. See Figure 1.

3. Remove the front retaining nut and loosen the rear nut of the degas bottle. Position the degas bottle out of the way.

4. Remove the A/C line bracket nut and position the A/C line out of the way. See Figure 2.


5. Remove the bolts securing the front engine support insulator to the front engine support bracket and the right-hand apron. See Figure 3.


6. Raise the front of the engine approximately 13 mm (1/2 inch) by adjusting the support hook on the 3-bar engine support.

7. Remove the front engine support insulator from the vehicle.

8. Position the new front engine support insulator into the vehicle, and install the three (3) bolts securing the insulator to the right-hand apron. Do not tighten at this time.

9. With the aid of an assistant, align the front engine support bracket and insulator, then lower the engine.

10. Install one (1) new bolt to secure the front engine support bracket to the insulator. Tighten the bolt to 103 Nm (76 lb-ft).

11. Tighten the three (3) bolts securing the front engine support insulator to the right-hand apron to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).

12. Position the A/C line, then install the A/C line bracket nut. Tighten the nut to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

13. Install the degas bottle. Tighten the nuts to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).

14. Remove the 3-bar engine support and the lifting eye.

15. Install the front engine support bracket bolt. Tighten the bolt to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
