So I have a 2003 Ford Escape and the neck to my radiator hose going to the radiator broke one day. So I bought a new radiator thinking that that would fix the overheating issue. Also I changed the thermostat. Started going down the road it over heated again. I turned the heater on and it started being normal heat gauge. So I drove with my heat on all the time. If I turned the heat off it over heated. So my fiancé took out the thermostat and it overheated more than before. So he put the old thermostat back in it and I drove around with the heat on as normal. It would over heat occasionally and I would pop the hood and noticed the top hose was really badly swollen and it would only go down if we opened the top to the resivore. On our way home the top hose busted and we replaced it. Now my engine is cold at the touch the temperature gauge is normal and my heat doesn’t work what the hell is going on. I’m at the end of my ropes and don’t know what to do. I have to have heat for the winter time. Someone told me I had a head gasket issue so we put some head gasket sealer in and idk if it’s even moved from the resivore. I’m in over my head. I have no money for a new vehicle and I don’t have money for a mechanic. I’m seriously losing my mind. I haven’t changed the water pump yet but when I get the funds to do so I am gonna try that.
