Hi everyone!

I'm new to the forum and I'm glad to have found this awesome support page for Escapes! I'm excited to be replacing my 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera with a 2005 Ford Escape XLT that I'm picking up later this week. It's black with the grey interior (although not leather). I wanted to add a grill guard to the front, because I think it would look so BA, and I stopped down to Advanced Auto Parts on a walk I was on today, and they wanted $500 for one. Ouch.

I don't really need it for functionality, as I live in Connecticut, but it just like how it aesthetically looks. I'm looking for one in all black, that is contoured to the front of the car. I've been looking on the forum and reading about different ones, some sticking out more than others, some being nicely fit and closer to the car like I want. My question is, does anyone have any idea of a brand I should get and/or the where I can get one cheap? I plan on checking the junkyard to see if any cars have been scraped with one on it, but I'm looking to spend under $300 for one if anyone know where I can go. Thanks!

E-Bay has been the best place I've found, I got my last one for $220 (includes shipping) or so and I seen where the seller had gone down a little since. Last time I checked there were not any on E-Bay but it changes every day.

I'm not sure if the one I got fit a 2005 or not, I think it was 01-04.

Here is a pic, the guard in my sig photo is my old one.

Thanks for the reply. I did as you said and looked on ebay and there are some good prices. Seems to be made by Hunter. I love the black one, the only thing I worry about is chipping and rusting, neither of which is a problem with the stainless steel one (although the flat black looks so much more BA on an all black vehicle). How far does that stick out in front of your car though?

From your pictures, the first one shows it contours to the front end very nicely, but your signature picture seems to show it stick out a bit, but that could be just the angle. Thanks!

TopElimn8r is correct, my new one fits nice and snug, whereas the old one stuck out a good bit.

I really need a new sig pic. Waiting to find a cool place in the background to take some photos, my yard just isn't that interesting.
