Ok. I'm at a loss here. I just purchased a zune interface for my escape. But I cannot find a diagram for the 16 pin connector on the back of the stereo. The connector is empty, there is no satellite radio in my vehicle. The stereo has a SAT and AUX button on it. I searched and found diagrams for the 24 and 8 pin connectors (7 speaker system) and the 8 pin and 16 pin connector (4 speaker system) but no diagram for the 16 pin connector (7 speaker system)

Any help would be definately appreciated.

Thanks
Don

Have you made any progress Don?

I just got a '06 Escape Limited with the Audiophile 6-disc and 7 speaker.

I took a peak at the back of the head unit and I have the same 24/16/8 port set-up. My 24 and 8 pin ports are populated, and I'm guessing/hoping that I can use the 16 pin port for the aux input for an ipod/iphone. I still can't believe how much people are charging for the adaptors though, so I'm thinking about making my own.

I think this topic - http://www.escape-city.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=589 has some good diagrams of the connectors, but I haven't checked to see if they are correct yet. I think I'll just need the left/right audio (is the ground the same for both the left and right audio? - pin 8) and power. I'm also unsure what pin 3 is and if there is a place to leech reliable power off of this port.

I am guessing I'll have to make my own power circuit to clean it down to 5V for the USB charger, and I'm hoping I don't run into any of the 'authentication chip' problems with the iPhone 3G.

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with this port, getting power from this head unit, or adapting an iPhone to charge and play over the aux input?

Thanks a ton,
washer

I actually found a different adapter for my zune to work with my factory audio. You should look around on eBay, there are plenty of options for Ipod users. Not so many for Zune users. Personally, I wouldn't attempt to create my own harness for an aux adapter. Too much risk of damaging the stereo and whatever you are connecting to it.
