How to add Ford's Factory Accessory step bars

NOTE: Left side shown, right side similar.

1) Remove the front and rear rocker panel moulding screws.

2) If equipped, remove the running board. For additional information, refer to Running Board in this section.

3) NOTE: When removing the rocker panel moulding, use a wedge-type tool to assist in the removal. Start at one end and proceed to the opposite end.

NOTE: The rocker panel moulding retainer clips are one-time use only. New clips must be used during installation.

Remove the 6 rocker panel moulding pin-type retainers.

4) Remove the rocker panel moulding.

5) To install, reverse the removal procedure.

What type of wedge tool to remove rocker clips and where might i find one

Maybe like a flathead screwdriver?

I think they have a special tool which is like a big yellow plastic pry tool.

I've used large flathead screwdrivers wrapped in hockey tape. Duct tape probably works just as well to prevent scratches.
