Can I replace the seats in my FEH with any from an Escape of the same year, regardless if hybrid or not? I’m planning on visiting local parts yards and looking for some with leather.
Will there be a code thrown when swapping (airbag for example)?

Welcome to the city, Duck.
You will have to stay in your second generation years, but any seat should work. Anything newer than 2008 will have more airbags.
I would say the biggest difference between the limited, and non-limited is all of the electrics, including possibly heated seats. I am sure there are variances between the different models below limited as well.
I would strongly recommend disconnecting the battery and touching the leads before doing any work. Reconnect battery only after everything is snug and tight.

Excellent news; being able to pick seats from Hybrid and Non should hopefully make things a lot more fun. Mine doesn't have heated seats so I'll avoid those that do, and will be looking for electric on the drivers side/manual on the passenger. I'll be sure to disconnect/touch the 12V as suggested, and I have Forscan as well. Many thanks for your input on this

No problem my friend. This is a friendly city to hang out in. ( :
If you have access to metal cutting tools, and a drill… You can adapt almost any seat to any seat frame. I currently have 2001 Camaro seats in my 1983 CJ-7.

haha damn that's awesome-- must be a pretty comfortable ride indeed. Maybe someday soon I'll attempt something of the same. Until then, I better stick with learning all the basic stuff with this Escape. baby steps, ya know lol
