It was an option when ordering a gas version, at least for the 08's.

But in any case you need to be able to put the flat back up under anyway.

I thought about putting it on the roof but i didn't buy mine with a rack (my only options were cruise control and floor mats) I thought about finding an aftermarket rack (there seems to be a couple out there) but i haven't heard much from anyone installing one of these.

May I ask?:

1) Did your escape come with the full sized spare when you bought it(bought it new)?
2) The Black circular retainer thats holding the tire/wheel up, did that come with it too?
3) Is the retainer lockable? That is, can it be locked somehow to help prevent someone stealing your spare?
