2009 V6 Ram Air

I purchased a 2008 Weapon-R intake for my 2009 V6 and it didn't fit. Why because Ford has ram air stock in the 2009. I will take pics tomorrow for you all to see. It is a pretty decent looking setup. It draws the air in from behind the grill. Do all of your escapes use plastic intake manifolds like the 2009? never seen plastic used for the intake manifold before.

The 2001-2004 Escapes draw air in from behind the bumper cover, which is a cold air intake but not ram air.

Our GM minivan has ram air, which surprised me the first time I opened the hood. Zoom zoom.

Which apparently is why you can't convert 'em to LPG.
I have been doing work on a Cadillac Seville STS, and even the mighty Northstar engines have a plastic intake manifold.
so do some camaros.
oh ya, and the 3.8l ford
One benefit of the plastic intake manifolds is cooler intake air, because plastic does not heat up as much as a metal manifold would.
