What do you mean, they can't find the bushing? Which bushing or a new one? All the numbers and pictures are in TSB 10-01-05!!kek7648 said:

Engine started bucking, no engine light went on
Engine would not shift from 1st to 2nd smoothly- although it is automatic transmission
front driver side axle needed to be completely replaced due to axle seal leaking
took car in and 2 WEEKS LATER, THEY CANNOT FIND THE BUSHING NEEDED TO DO THE REPLACEMENT
they will not pay for a rental and they do not have a loaner system at this dealership. the car is on the lift, no front tires and the engine is in pieces.
I received confirmation dealership this is a wide spread issue and the parts are hard to come by since they are in the midst of a 'remodel'.
I will never get another ford and if anyone buys this car, good luck!
I think that everyone that owns a newer Escape owes it to themselves to check OFTEN. I do now about once a week. I shine the flashlight from under the hood downward and from under the car upward. So far knock on wood no other leaks. I don't have any bucking, hesitation, mis-shifts or anything else like that pertaining to the transmission. I also chek the oil and tranny fluid regularly to keep an eye on things. Same deal - I check the dip sticks and look for any leaks underneath.ophiruchus said:This thread is making me slightly nervous. Next Tuesday will mark the one year anniversary of ownership (and nearly 15,000 miles of driving. nuts.) and I'm wondering if I need to start looking for this leakage business.
Where in MI are you? There doesn't seem to be a option for posting attachments or I'd post one for that TSB.brutedawg20 said:Hey guys, First post here. My wife has a 09 Escape XLT 2.5L. Noticed oil marks in the garage, sure enough axel seal leak. The dealer her in MI has had the vehicle for 2 weeks to the day!! they cannot get the parts (axle and bearing) they have the case but not the other 2 pieces because they have been back ordered. Checked NHTSA.gov tonight, this TSB is not listed? anyone have a copy?
I cant believe this car has been in for 2 weeks the service tech said hes got 6 of them waiting now. Originally he got a ship date of 2/17 which didn't ship. Now they are telling him they are going to start pulling parts from the production line to get out. How is this not a recall? they told me my axle was moving 1/2 inch and it was not safe to drive.
Good part is they will provide me with a rental free of charge, had one for 2 days but turned it in. luckily i have a fusion my wife can drive, otherwise id be driving the rental foci and she would be driving my mustang.
the car was purchased last april, she drives a lot, it has 17000 miles on it. We traded in her 07 vue hybrid that was a problem child to get something she wouldn't have to worry about crapping out on her. Shouldnt have gotten a 1st year production i guess.
Not really true! It starts off pink in color and some say a somewhat darkening in color is still okay as long as it doesn't smell burnt. Mine was still pink the last time I checked it but I don't have that many miles on mine.brutedawg20 said:I thought my leak was power steering fluid because it was brown/black (dark) not pink/red. When I took it in the the dealer I told them I thought it was PS fluid which i was told the steering is electric which explains why I couldnt find the master cyl to ck the fluid level (no longer hydraulic). The service tech told me the ATF fluid is a synthetic blend now and no longer reddish.
The red color is a dye that was added to the ATF.
