So my ABS brake light came on shortly after a hard braking episode in June on my 2012 2.5l. Used my local shop that does my oil changes, replaced alternator, etc. They diagnosed it, pulled the module, sent it off for repair, got it back, still not working. Pulled and sent again, got a repair credit, now came back unrepairable. So a used part was ordered from a place in NC, still not working after $500 spent and 3 months later but "driveable". I am being very cautious about allowing time to stop but light is on and pedal is lower. So I called local Ford dealership on my own and got in line for the new $500 part, paying the extra "rush" fee of $45, and the parts manager also got my registration info to move me further up the line of owners whose vehicles are "down" due to the back order. It will be another $400 labor to install. Any ideas or inside knowledge out there of what time for parts release? We have a 2010 also...should we order a second part for it when available jic? This chip shortage interrupting our life but we love our older true suv's with 16 inch tires.

Yes, the chip shortage is affecting all the manufactures line. I have customers waiting on modules and computer for months, and still no end date. New vehicles are leaving the Dealership missing modules for comfort items, and have to return later when these modules come in and be installed.
