Maybe venting a little here but I do have question.128k Miles. 6f35 Transmission. Stopped at a red light, when I pulled away I noticed the car seemed like it was taking off in 2nd or 3rd gear until I hit about 2000 rpm, then is slammed down to 1st gear. Then I got the Transmission Fault on the dash. I immediately drove to Ford dealership here in Kentucky. They had one of their technicians diagnose the problem. They charged me $150 for the diagnosis and told me I needed a transmission. New transmission is going to run me $6,595 plus tax and misc. charges.
Upon inspecting my receipt later I found it was funny they did not list any real reason as to why it needs a new transmission. All it states is "During Diagnostic Check Found That: Transmission Bad." Am I wrong to expect more of a diagnosis? Tell me exactly what failed? Why it failed?
They cleared my codes but of course they came back on my way home. I connected my scanner and I am getting 2 codes (p0729, p0731). Any transmission guys on here that may be able to tell me for sure if the "Transmission Bad" and needs replaced for $6500, or should I take my business elsewhere?
