I know this is an older post, but I recently joined the forum and just ran across this. I had the same issue with my '20 Escape SEL. What I did was use a fuse tap on fuse #6 on the internal fuse block (it's the only mini fuse that doesn't have 12+ volts constantly). The owner's manual states this is for the moon roof and DC Inverter. I have the vista roof and after tapping into this circuit there have been no issues.

I should have stated I recently "re-joined" the forum. I had a 2011 Escape years ago and recently purchased a new-to-me '20 Escape SEL.
