I just picked up my 09 escape yesterday and i only have the xlt no leather or heated seats and i noticed the 4 buttons surrounding the A/c and max a/c are empty.. i was wondering if anyone knows if the buttons can possibly be used for other applications like leds and other things i could possibly use them for like my blue lights since i am a volley firemen, and i dont really want to go drilling holes to mount my switches or have to mount a switch box if i can just utilize what i already had that would be great. any help would help thanks

I can't confirm what behind them, but I think that's the same spot my backup sensor on/off switch is.

I have a nealy loaded 08 and if I recall that's the only 'button' used in that spot of 4.

So'nt see why you couldn't put your own switch in there.

You can always try it out and report back to us. Then again, JP and Squishy will definitely know the why and where fors of the buttons... eace:
