A-Pillar / Panel Trim Removal for Dash Cam Install

Hey everybody I'm looking for advice on how to properly remove the driver's side A-Pillar trim and/or the instrument panel in order to route some wiring. I need to go from the rear view mirror area, tuck under the headliner then down to the OBD port.

This is a 2013 Escape Titanium I just bought, I'm afraid to just start prying at it. Anyone have experience or documentation to help demystify?

It has been a while since I did this on my 2017 (passenger side since I was going for the "fuse box") and there wasn't much to it. I think you pull it at an angle the bisects the corner ( /|\ the middle leg) and don't favor the windshield or the door opening.
