Cool! AIC was one of my favorite bands before Layne Staley passed away. I saw them when they opened for Van Halen in '91. I was absolutely amazed by Layne's voice. The new record sounds good but I haven't purchased it yet. They are playing in NYC in March. I'll have to see if anyone wants to go...

I'm not exactly a fan, but hope you enjoy the show. I have attended a few concerts over the years and always liked live performances way better than the playback of recordings.

--My son, (he's 49) goes here a lot --- http://www.keswicktheater.com/, in Glenside Pa. They had the Winter Brothers this summer. The Tower in Upper Darby features a lot of good venue and, he also hits the Colonial
in Pottstown where the Outlaws played a couple of weeks ago. He lucked out and got to go backstage and met the group.

the new singer is so good. I actually like the new singer as much as i liked the old. I like the lyrics a lot better because they aren't all about drugs , well not all the old songs were about drugs but the majority of them were. I haven't been excited to go to a show in a while. We just saw Pearl Jam's opening Seattle show and it was so good.
I promote bands but always end up promoting speed metal and thrash bands. Sometimes i need to hear some great rock and roll..like Alice, mudhoney and another fav is Sunnyday Realestate.. :thumb:

---You mentioned you are involved in bands.
My oldest daughter has been making videos of up and coming bands, for two years.
Her kids are all married and she is a grandmom, but after filming her son-in-law's band a couple of years ago, she got hooked. (she always was a techie since H.S., and was one of the first to buy a beta camera, when they came out.)
This started out as a hobby, but now I think she has become almost professional.
This is her latest video of a local east coast band recording one of their new songs.

Really? I've seen a few YouTube videos and a concert on TV... I don't think William DuVall is bad but he doesn't have nearly the consistent power and range Layne did in live shows. I actually heard that Jerry Cantrell actually did the majority of the vocals on the new album. I was surprised at how much the vocals sounded like the old records but then realized something was missing on the songs I heard. The vocals were much more monotone and less dynamic than on the older records. I'm not saying it's bad just a little different. I haven't really paid much attention to the lyrics yet. I do plan on getting the full album soon. It will be interesting to hear the whole thing. My cousin is a big fan too. He loves the new album. I hope I do too. :)
