On my way to work today my 4WD light would blink 3 times then shut off. It did this about every minute or so. Anyone know what that means?

I tried spinning the tires around the corner and it didn't break loose so my 4WD is still working...JP didn't you say something about a speed sensor a long time ago?

Yup. Because both the ABS and 4WD systems are engaged/disengaged when the sensors detect wheelspin, that means that one of the sensors or rings is probably bad or disconnected.

Are they only in the front? I guess I need to take it to the dealership....*sigh*

Take it to Autozone for a quick code read.

I have a Scan Gauge attached to it and it isn't throwing any codes.

Didn't you just go off-roading? Maybe the underside just needs a good washing...

I went off roading but mostly through grass. The only dirt it saw was the driveway to get back to the farm lol

I'd bet that one of the sensors is just dirty. And tall grass can get stuck in small openings, too.

I agree with JPark about the sensor Scotty. Had one of my sensors replaced a few months back.
