True. I'm on the fence about HIDs. By the way, someone was mentioning how there's funny light patterns with your HID kit... sorry, but I noticed some funny light patterns on my garage door and I run the regular halogen bulbs, lol.
My understanding is that using HID headlamps in halogen lenses will cause problems, such as uneven lighting and blinding oncoming traffic. The reason has to do with the shape of the arc in a HID bulb versus the filament in halogen lamps.
With that said, you can do much better than $200. Try http://www.xenonlink.com and look for your light type there. I bought lamps from them for an unrelated project (I made a video projector; works really well) for $120 or so for a pair.
