Bought my 05 Escape used, so i only recieved 1 key. The dealer had the other. So of course I needed another key. Looked on E-Bay and saw these. Relatively new design and style. Cut the key myself at work (not recommended), took it to the dealership to have programmed. They looked at me like i was crazy. Lol. Have to wiggle it a bit to get it to turn, but gets better each time i use it. Should have had the dealer cut it by vin number, but it took them 2hours to get it programmed. But i love it. Blade slides out with a release lever on the side. Also has keyless remote built in. Makes it easier to fit in your pocket without being stabbed.

Nifty, but I don't think I'd want one. Looks too big...

My wife's New Beetle key is like that - mini switchblade. I feel very 'West Side Story' when I walk into the garage and flick the thing open.

The only problem i have encountered with it, is i keep setting panic button off at work, when i lean against a car and the key is in my pocket. Someone recently tried breaking into my Escape at work. So now when it goes off I freak out, :pug: I go running across the parking lot to check. Lol. Went out with a oil dipstick 1 time. Gotta protect my BABY!!!!!!!
