Bought my 05 Escape used, so i only recieved 1 key. The dealer had the other. So of course I needed another key. Looked on E-Bay and saw these. Relatively new design and style. Cut the key myself at work (not recommended), took it to the dealership to have programmed. They looked at me like i was crazy. Lol. Have to wiggle it a bit to get it to turn, but gets better each time i use it. Should have had the dealer cut it by vin number, but it took them 2hours to get it programmed. But i love it. Blade slides out with a release lever on the side. Also has keyless remote built in. Makes it easier to fit in your pocket without being stabbed.

and as far as it being big, its only about as thick as the key fob sitting on top of the key on the key ring.

My wife's New Beetle key is like that - mini switchblade. I feel very 'West Side Story' when I walk into the garage and flick the thing open.

The only problem i have encountered with it, is i keep setting panic button off at work, when i lean against a car and the key is in my pocket. Someone recently tried breaking into my Escape at work. So now when it goes off I freak out, ug: I go running across the parking lot to check. Lol. Went out with a oil dipstick 1 time. Gotta protect my BABY!!!!!!! :rockon:
