So I'm going to attempt to make some LED tail lights using the stock tail lights. Im going to drill holes and mount the LEDs throught the exisiting rear reflectors of the Turn signal, Reflector(unused lens), and the running/brake light. Check out the diagram. So the lights will look stock but will be LED. Im going to have to purchase some stock lights to modify since my Escape is my daily driver. So my plan is to do this and make a few sets for others. I'll probally be able to get this project underway as soon as I can find a inexpensive set of tail lights.

Is there a seperate wire that runs the turn signal in the rear light or does the turn signal wire share the same wire as the brake signal? Like most other Escapes, the amber lens area of the rear lights is not used and I too was thinking about installing a separate light to use the amber turn signal.

Interesting... In the US we use the top reflector, amber, and the clear. Im curious what the back of the German tail light looks like. If I ever get to this project I will utilize the entire tail light.

Damn man....This is just what i wanted to do to my escape.I've found an escape in the junk yard(just one,and that makes me feel good) and i wanted to take the lights(so i don't mess mine up)and work on this project,but then i said neeehh i'll do it some other time and end up dropping the lights there on the back seat of that escape.And now the escape is not there anymore. :wall: It has been trough the crusher!

already did this with the altezza's. turned out great did them for the turn signal, brake light and reverse lights. check out my cardomain for pics.
