Hello! Good day to all!
I have a Ford Escape 2002 XLT and been having this strange problem.
Whenever I go faster than 61/62 mi/h I get this beeping noise which won't stop until I go slower than that. And starts again when I start going faster.
I think it isn't throwing a code, it just comes at regular rhythm without stopping.
I looked online but couldn't find anyone having this problem.
No error lights are on.
Thanks very much for your help!

You're going to need to identify exactly where the tone is coming from.

Never heard of a factory speed alarm on the older Escapes. Is this a recently acquired Escape discovered to be with this "feature" or did it just start after a period of time with no such activity?

I have never heard of any speed type "alarm" on the Gen 1 Escapes. I know in Japan they implemented (gotta love government) a "chime" that would start when the vehicle reached 100 kph (approximately 62 mph).

Thank you for the quick response!
The sound comes from the dashboard instrument cluster.
I bought the car a couple of months ago from a broker and he told me it was already doing the sound.
Thanks again!

It could be a 'fleet only' option that warns if speed exceeds a set value. Some options are not made available to retail customers, but only to fleet purchases. The current Maverick has a backup warning system that cannot be ordered by retail customers, for example.
If so, maybe a dealer would have documentation. If it is an aftermarket warning system, it may be removable. Removing the instrument cluster is very easy to do if you want to look at its backside.

OP , are you going to follow this up ? , btw is it the normal "chime" sound say when one leaves in the keys on off and opens the door , it'd be interesting what it is , one might be able to turn it off in the ECU using forscan , or if its a aftermarket just find it and disable the power feed to it maybe but the actual circuit board (or black box) could be anywhere , good luck .

Thank you very much for the responses! The sound is definitely coming from the instrument cluster and it is like the door/key beeping noise.
I was thinking about taking out the instrument cluster to take a look at it but haven't yet.
I feel like it doesn't sound like an aftermarket add on.
