i tapped behind the headunit
Not knowing what year or what grade of stereo the orginal poster has, behind the radio is a start.

I used to drive a company leased 2006 Ford Escape. I installed an amplified Bazooka tube with the intent of upgrading to a better subwoofer system later. The radio popped out via the removal tools you can buy anywhere. Not only did buy the aftermarket radio harness (plugs into factor harness and gives bare wire to connect an aftermarket radio), but I ordered the opposite harness (plugs in to factory radio and gives bare wire a.k.a. like you are repairing the factory harness). I made a "T" harness with my Line Out Converter and was simple to plug in. It gave me front and rear rcas. I installed a line driver to boost the line signal. But, I had to remove everything to turn in the vehicle.

Bazooka makes plug and play harness solution (never used it).

Even if you don't have a Bazooka tube, that harness and extension could be usefull.

On a 2013 escape it would be at the rear doors.
You dont even have to take the door panels off!!!
Take off the center plastic pillar between the doors and the molding on rear door follow the wires from the connector that goes into the door to where you can splice.
The speaker wire color is the same as the old model escapes which you can find here.

LF Speaker + = white LF Speaker - = white w/ brown stripe
RF Speaker + = white w/ violet stripe RF Speaker - = white w/ orange stripe
LR Speaker + = white w/ green stripe LR Speaker - = brown w/ yellow stripe
RR Speaker + = brown w/ white stripe RR Speaker - = brown w/ blue stripe

I did this on my 2008 and it works perfect! make sure you take the extra time and be positive that you have a solid clamp on the wires you tap, otherwise it'll come unattached. Good luck! :thumb:

I have a 2017 Ford Escape SE and I tapped into one of the speaker harness, I have bass.....but it is only when I use my phone or USB. Was I suppose to tap into the other wire harness to get bass for my radio along with the USB and my phone?
