so my left lanzar sub started making horrible rattling noises i thought it was blown but turns out its just the dust cap comming off and rattling. i know this happens often but cant seem to find a solid answer on what the best form of glue or silicon is to use to fix this.. anyone have any experience?

Not too sure, but I thought silicone was bad for speakers...

epoxy might be the right way to go.

Silicone inside a box before it has cured will eat into and potentially damage foam surrounds. Once cured, its fine.

i ended up going with the clear silicon because i already had some and i thought id try it.

the split was in center of speaker and it was basically a plastic dust cap attached to a plastic like material they used for the actual speaker (some are made from paper like material in which case i wouldnt have tried this method), luckily it wasnt near the foam surround. so i applied the silicon and let it dry around 36 hours. so far it seems to be doing the trick and working great again.
