I have an '05 Escape, and the build date was May 17th of '04, made in Kansas City for the Canadian market, and the last 6 digits are A76492, which means it was the 76,492nd Escape built in that time period. I'm the second owner.
One thing I noticed on the VIN number; the 9th number is not explained in the code section. Everything else is explained except that one number. Strange.
