Check your dealer service invoices.
When I visited Michigan in March and it wouldn't start in my own driveway, I had it towed to a nearby Mercury dealer. On the invoice for the repair (which required a new key... so I have a Ford and Mercury key for a Ford), it says... date of production: 10/24/2008.
Inservice: 02/23/2009.
Only four months of waiting before ownership.
