Well here are 2 brush Guards to look at on my 1st Gen Escape. You didn't say what year yours was, so I assume by new you mean 2009-2010. Personally I think Bull bars look better on the new Escapes, the pics I've seen of the full brush rack on an '10 didn't really appeal to me, but then again it could have been the angle or just a poor photo.

My old one:

And my new one (I like this one better.) I now have lights on it now like the old one had.

I hit a loose cow in the road which ruined the first one, I think it saved my front end from what would have been worse damage. It stuck way out, which I didn't mind too much at the time, but having the new one now I think a close fitting one looks a lot nicer, and going to protect the same. Be sure and see if you can tell how it will fit when you get one.

I know a few members here have Bull bars and better pics to share. Good luck and be sure and post pics when you get whatever kind of bar you want on there!

yeah i have a 2010.... I was thinking the same way in terms of the bull bar looking nicer on it. I appreciate the feedback.
I'm going to try to take pics of the car itself before any mods then I'll take the pics with the mods on it.
Would you recommend any sites to purchase a bull bar from???

You hit a loose cow in the road?

Now I know the etymology of the term "bull bar". Although I suspect that an actual bull bar would have been ineffective in this situation. Maybe we should dispense with the term "brush guard", and call them "cowcatchers" from now on?

One friend of mine now refers to my Guard as the "Beef Blocker." I like cowcatcher as well. :D It's more likely to see a cow than brush anyway, I generally don't dive into brush since I can't see the ground.

Hey all,
Just stumbled upon this website today as I looked around for pictures of the newer Escapes with bull bar or brush guard. I have found a few bull bar pictures but can't find ANY pictures of the new style with a brush guard. I want to see how snug/fitting against the body it looks.
Thanks guys

Are you going to be off-road or just for looks. if it's just for looks i would think you can take it to a shop and have them refit and fab new brackets. the one above looks pretty tight fitting and nice, esp for show..

Now I'm just getting picky. Does anyone have a picture of a black bull bar on a black new body style Sport Appearance Package? I just feel like I want to see it first before I spend the money to put it on and decide I don't like it. Thanks

I would be surprised if we find someone with that setup, dont see many Escapes on here with a brush guard to begin with, let alone an all black escape with the sports package. Though we do have 2 escapes here that is all black.

Yeah my thoughts exactly. My black 2010 sport package is on its way. I'll probably make the impulsive decision and get the bullbar, it's not that expensive. I'll be sure to post pictures. Such a thing as too much black?

This pic was posted elsewhere on the board in this thread: http://www.escape-city.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5313

This is the only pic I've seen of a newer Escape with a full Brush Guard, I'm not sure I like the design.

Just watched I AM LEGEND for like the 5th time and noticed at the end of the movie there Is an escape with a brush guard and additional fog lights on it. Looks pretty sweet, but I am still a bull bar kind of guy. I'll see if I can find that link ror the bull bar that megaescape was talking about In last page.
