Anyone know if a cargo tray exists in the aftermarket? What i mean is a soild rack/cover to stack stuff on in place of the roll up sun shade. I keep lots of tools in the cargo area for work in my escape. but them i am left with no where to put groceries or kids toys and stuff.

looking for ideas

thanks

Depending on your Escape Year Model, look under you cargo floor. You might find a nice surprise... ;)
OMG, I completely forgot about that!

I have a Husky cargo liner that never gets taken out anyway. :)

What are you looking for to be surprised? I bought my 08 used and this is my first Escape so not sure what this all about. What is a cargo "tray" is that like a liner? What is that plastic box under the carpet? A spacer? I have a little compartment in the middle of that with a chip board cover that holds the jack.

Thanks for the info.

It refers to some people that have the cargo package in which the plastic false floor is replaced with a different floor that has a storage container built in. Called the "wet trunk".

how deep is the wet trunk and why is it wet? what is the weight limit for the top if you have one of these put in?

How much do you gain in storage?
Not sure on measurements, but it is this:

seems hardly worth the extra expense since it appears you can only put two muddy boots in it.
ANd then you ahve to clean it out . I assume the interior is not removeable to hose out so I guess for that purpose I do not see a need for it. There is others that posted a mod they made and it looked bigger. I have some tow stuff I could use that space for but over all it is less space and depth than I thought.

It is really not a lot of added space. But it adds something. I wanted to grab that but decided that I will just build a false floor and make the entire area a hidden compartment. Once I get through house projects, my fall project will be a false floor to house my audio amps, jack and the rest will be a storage compartment.

This works for me :)
It has a square metal tube frame, with carpet covered wood top. I've since added four chrome tie down points and carpeted the inside of the drawer.
