So I notice they notch the bumper to set the hitch. The hole for the receiver lock/pin is in line with the bumper. How can i get a pin through there without bending back the bumper (flimsy where cut). Am i missing something. I apologize if this is a :bang: question.

Thanks

yeah i had the same concern with my ex-2010 that had this oem hitch. On my 2011 i didn't get the towing package and will install an aftermarket hidden hitch with 2" receiver.

I dont think you can work around this except to drill another hole farter inside or outside.

I was going to opt out of the upgrade and just get my own class 3 installed which I was persuaded not to by Ford. No cut bumper, looks beefier, etc.. In hindsight I should of did what I originally intended to. I will take it up with the dealer on Monday and see how they want to resolve it.

Hi,
Fact: when i bought my 2011 the dealer said that it's impossible to put the factory OEM towing package on the SAP
because of the 17'' wheel and the spare tire ??

But maybe it's possible to put an aftermarket towing pack like yours

No i have the oem one installed and I also have the full size spare so now im really confused. Just went out to check the length of the hitch bar and its less then 3" and is barely an inch away from the spare. I couldnt relocate/re-drill the hole for the receiver lock even if I wanted to. It wont work there is just no room. Bumper will always be in the way.
