Hi Im new here and have a quick question. I drive an 04 tribute. I installed infinity ref. 6x8s in all four door running with 50 rms a piece. I am not too happy with the sound quality. Would it be worth it to get one set of phoenix gold rsd 6 inch comps. and mount the tweet in the pillar up front? Its an extra 60 dollars. I dont want to spend that for not too much of a difference.

Thanks

They should, but it depends? When you say 50 rms, are you speaking aftermarket amp? If so, what amp? In general, round speakers will sound better. You'll need lots of sound deadening if you don't already have it. I currently have the PG RSD 6" coax running in the doors -- off of OEM deck power. I like them better than the 6.5" Kappas in my other vehicle. The Rsds are a great bang for the buck. I'm seriously thinking of changing my Kappas with Rsd components (or PPI...or Image Dynamics..can't decide). I'm currently running them off of deck power, so I'll wait to see what they sound like after I install my amp & sub.

Either way, you can keep your Infinities in the rear (and fade them).

run with a cadence 50x4 amp. As of right now I have no sound deadening but Im selling my front infinitys and going for the comps. I will have to deaden the doors and rear because I also have a 15 mb quart sub in a sealed box that rattle sometime. And you said that you didnt have an amp I have had both and the amp makes a huge difference in quality and spl. I really really hope this sounds a lot better with comps and deadener.

Also how do you remove and put back that black matrial in the door panel, and where did you mount your tweets?
