Replacing the coils is expensive and it does come up as a required repair on the older trucks. The forward bank is particularly vulnerable .Sometimes it is just the 'boot' that fails but if neglected that cause the COP to fail to.
I found an inexpensive source on EBay http://bit.ly/5FUvFR -just $80 for all six! Item number: 320444245024.
The vendor "exclusivepart" is from China so I am leery. Has anyone used them? Their feedback is good but FleaBay doesn't seem very scrupulous with their ratings.
What do you think?

Could be hit'n miss?
OEM coils are more expensive, and go bad after a while.
E-bay specials are cheap and lifetime warranty........
Life of the coils? If so how long is that life?

I don't knowing buy anything off ebay from China, or sold by a (US) purveyor of Chinese goods. I'd sooner man up and pay the additional amount for the US made product. Just too much grief involved if I don't. :wall:

Know what I mean Vern? ;-|

I'm basically counting pennies since I was laidoff 12 months ago so I tried the aftermarket coils from ebay. For $13.00 each I ordered 2 and received them in 3 days. When I went to install one I couldn't get it to plug into the harness, glad I bought 2.The second one plugged right in and is running fine.I'm going to return the defective one for replacement so I have a standby. There isn't much technology in the coil, only wire wrapped around a magnet,so it's worth a shot.Just my 2 cents.
