I just got back from taking my two girls for a little summer vacation at my parents' house. 400+ miles of mostly highway with some back roads thrown in. I just couldn't wait to get on here and rave about how great it was driving the new Mariner. I don't know what you guys get on trips with yours but I got,...

33mpg!!!!

These things kick butt! Seriously I didn't think it would do that well. Probably would have been a little better too if I didn't hit one kinda small traffic jam up in the PA mountains.

Wow, 33 MPG is around what our Escort does in mixed driving (38 HWY). That's impressive.

That's great mileage! My last all highway trip got me 20.9 mpg. Any time I'm over 20 I'm absolutely thrilled... Glad you are enjoying your Mariner :)

33 MPG doesn't surprise me at all.

We took our Fusion from north of Buffalo to a wedding in King George, Virginia, one year ago this weekend (also through lots of mountains in PA) with three people in the car, wedding gifts, and four days worth of luggage. I filled it up just before we left, and I filled it to the top again two days later in Virginia with 12.315 gallons. 476.8 miles between the two fillups makes 38.717 MPG.

Over its lifetime, it's averaged around 28.6 MPG in mainly around-town driving.

Congrats, and I'm glad you're enjoying your Mariner!

No surprise to me. They do get good mileage in most conditions.

We just returned from our second trip in our 08 Tribbie. First trip it managed 30+ mpg IIRC. The most recent one we averaged over 32 mpg with mixed city in Knoxville and Pidgeon Forge.
