Hi Everyone! and Special Hi to JPARK. My question is are the door handles exactly the same for 2005 VS 2008 and 2001, etc. I want to get chrome door handle covers for my Mariner but do not want to make a mistake.

I'm 99.99% sure that the door handles are the same from 2001 to the current models, but I'll check the part numbers on the service DVD tomorrow morning.

Thank you Both! I have had a rough year and have stayed away from the forums a bit.

Oh and Jpark. Actually I took the plunge and did a rewire and solder myself so my seat is not power (that one is still sitting in the garage with hacked wires, but my original seat is fixed and I had all the new Katzkin installed on the entire interior in March. So I kinda had to use the original seat so all is well! Let me know on that part #

Sorry that the power seat didn't work out. The wiring was spot-on, according to the wiring diagrams, so that seat may have had some issues.

For the door handles, since the 6L8Z-7822404-BAPTM paint-to-match part number for the 2001-2007 models now points to 8L8Z-7822404-BBPTM, they are definitely the same parts for all Escapes and Mariners, 2001-2009, and for Tributes 2008 and newer. 2001-2007 Tributes had different door handles.

The smaller paint-to-match bezels (the fixed part next to the handle) are also the same: the part with the hole for the lock cylinder was 6L8Z-78218A14-BAPTM, and it's now 8L8Z-78218A14-BBPTM. The bezel without the hole was 6L8Z-78218B08-BAPTM, now 8L8Z-78218B08-BBPTM.

Black textured parts are 8L8Z-7822404-AB for the door handle, 8L8Z-78218A14-AB for the bezel with the lock cylinder hole, and 8L8Z-78218B08-AB for the bezel without the hole.

The new parts are also less expensive.

Hey JP, I checked those part numbers on RockAuto, and they were only coming up with one result which was a black handle (dunno if it was textured or paintable) with the bezel already attached. Do they sell them separately?
