Anyone have one? I got a color Pandigital 7" and really like it. I just put 125 Stephen King books in it. I'll be busy!

No sir! I just bought a 22" display for my pc to enlarge the font so that I can read without the magnifier glasses. I don't know that a 7" display would be a great idea  . Also, I have about 50 paper books (mostly car books with all kinds of photos) that are new waiting for my retirement to read  .

Love Stephen King!! Let me know how you like the E-book reader after a couple of months. I haven't bought one because:

*I love books and it's a comfort feeling to settle on the couch or bed and read. I really love turning pages too. Maybe that's weird but it just stems from being a bookworm as a child. :D

*My eyes get tired if I look at a computer screen too long.

But a few of my friends have Kindles and one of my professors would rave about his so I have been a tad curious about them.

Happy reading!! :woohoo: I think I'd start with It. That's my favorite Stephen King novel.

The 7" screen is the same size as a standard paperback. Dasha, I know what you mean, there is a sort of comfort with a paperback, but this is kind of cool because you don't have to worry about reading in bed and dropping the book and loosing your page. Plus it has a night read mode which is great if you want to read while your better half is sleeping. I'm reading "Under the dome" right now. I bought that before I got the reader. But I'll be reading "IT" soon. This reader can read E-books that are in the e-pub format or in the pdf format.

 Nook?

What's a Nook?

Work buddy has a Kindle that he gets out when things are slow. I pull out a movie DVD and pop it into the pc.

A question for you knowledgeable ebook users. Is there a way to swap books, like you can with a physical book? Or donate (transfer ownership), say to your library, or at the ubiquitous "used book" table at flea markets/yard sales? A lot of people get their books that way.

The Nook is Barnes and Noble's E reader. I have read that it got higher ratings than the Kindle, but I think it all comes down to personal preference and what you want in an e reader.

The screens look just like newspaper or a book, it's quite amazing. So no eye fatigue. I don't have one but I've read a little on my friends Kindle, pretty neat invention. Another friend of FB complained about hers because now she can read one handed she tries to read and cook, brush her teeth etc.

After twenty years there will most certainly be no old book in a dusty corner to discover.
This is a bit of a worry for me too. I like having a bookshelf with books on it (and CDs and DVDs). What will become of our garage sales in the future? Can't sell a streamed movie or book or song. Then again, the Internet was supposed to kill magazines and newspapers and they are still around.....
