hi,
the first one, witch i got, is aluminum with chrome finish plated or something it demands lots of care to be shiny all years long. And the second one is stainless steel, just like infiniti and cadillac oem grill.

sorry for my english

Being the perennial Scrooge, I would get the lower priced grill. If I liked it, I would keep it. If not, then I would order the higher priced one. When it came in, I would compare the two and see which one I liked best. Then return the one I did not like. It's not perfect, but it is a plan. You might also see what is available locally, if you have a supplier/store that stocks them, before buying off ebay.

I have been eyeballing the same grills and wondered the same thing. There are aluminum versions and steel ones from what I have found. Then horizontal vs. vertical. I really want to get them but I am worried that they would bolt on. The brief install info doesn't really say how.

We bought ours from here.... http://www.american-auto-accessorie...-plated-billet-grille-upper-lower-p-3105.html

It looks identical to the one in your second link. We are very pleased with it. My husband and brother installed it and the installation went smoothly. I think it took about an hour and a half to install.

This grille has been on our Escape for a year now and still looks awesome. It is very easy to maintain.

Here is the link to my thread of our Billet Grille...... http://www.escape-city.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1858

Good luck with your decision. :)

They look very good on there. I really like the lower one. I wanted one just to keep debris falling falling there. Literally at work I made the mistake of parking next to the grass when they were doing a fall cleanup. I had a pile of leaves in that sucker.

They make the front look like a whole new vehicle...

how hard was it to install?
Very easy to install actually; a bit of a pain but not hard. If you can use a screw driver, you can install this grille. The grille I installed had clips and it screwed to brackets through the front; no drilling involved. Installation needs someone with small hands though :D
