I recently had a check engine light turned on on my 2002 ford escape 2.0 5 speed. I had the code scanned at a parts store and got a code for insufficient flow of the egr system. I replaced the egr pressure sensor and the problem so far is gone, I hear it is very common failure with fords so I thought I would post it. It was a cheap and easy fix, and also My car used to stumble slightly upon acceleration and that is fixed as well.

By egr pressure sensor I'm assuming you mean the DPFE? If so, then yes that's a common fix.
Thanks for posting.

Since you have the same car as mine (02 2.0L 5MT) I'll mention that I had a hesitation & lack of power problem this past Summer which I solved by replacing the Ignition Coil pack (Motorcraft part from RockAuto). The CEL didn't come on for a while after the problem surfaced & the car had less than 70k miles at the time. At the time w no MIL I went ahead & replaced the DPFe, so I won't have to worry about that for a while. :)
