Long time lurker, first time poster.

Got a 2009 black XLT a few months ago (awesome, awesome ride).

The "Engine Oil Change Soon" message came on, so I . . . changed my oil. But now whenever I start the escape, it's still comes on! It tells me to press the reset button for it to go awy, which I do, and it goes away for the entire trip. But the next time I start the escape, it's back.

I even used the recommended oil and everything!

You have to press the Setup control to get to the oil life indicator and then hold Reset for two seconds. See page 75/76 of your manual for clarification.

By the way, the monitor has no idea what oil you used. There is no "oil life sensor" - it uses several sensors to calculate your oil life based on start cycles, engine temp, RPMs, fuel usage, and maybe some other things.
