At Idle temperature increases. 2 fans not on. turning heater on drops temperature to normal.. I dont think thermostat or water pump, since temperature goes down with heater which means there is flow. Is that correct diagnosis?

Is this the order I should check?

Coolant fan fuses
Coolant fan relays
Coolant sensor at coolant output

Welcome to the city, Birdman. I would say you're on track if the fans are not spinning… Do you have a code reader?

Thermostat sticking. Mine is acting up also. I have changed them on almost every Ford i have owned. The 1.5 does look like a pain to get to, once it gets warmer i will look further and see if i want to tackle it or just pay my mechanic.
