Howdy all, I'm a huge fan of my 2009 Ford Escape XLT and happy to find this forum. Sync is one of my top 4 reasons for loving her - hands-free phone calling is the only way. (The other reasons are the keypad entry, fab sunroof, and she's just so damned TUFF, she makes a snowy back-road commute into a piece of cake!)
But yesterday the Sync "voice" volume quit on me - it died out during a phone call, and now there's no volume to it at all. I crank the volume knob all the way up but can't hear a word. When I use the steering wheel controls to activate, it used to say, "Phone - please say a command," then "Listening" would show up on the screen. Now all I see is "Listening," so I know the feature itself is working, but I can't hear her voice, and I can't hear the other person on the phone during a call.
It didn't cut out all at once, either; I could just barely hear it yesterday, now there's nothing.
But the radio works fine! Volume on that is same as always.
Anyone have this problem before? It's almost like a wiring thing, like there's a special Sync speaker whose wires have failed. Have looked around for info on that and not found anything (yet).
I did a factory reset of Sync last evening and re-paired my phone, but nothing changed.
