Sorry about my, quick visit to facebook
I have de-activated my facebook account.

There were, a few things that bugged me.
When transferring photos from hard drive, they did not show up large enough.
For example on this site, when i paste from photobucket, they are acceptably large.

I posted a photobucket image link, to the facebook site.
Then i noticed the photobucket photo, appeared the size i like.
There was only one problem.

By posting the photobucket link, the rest of my album was accessible.
My apology ,for being paranoid about security.
Shall return to facebook eventually.
There just are things about it, i do not feel comfortable with.

Don't worry, your better off without it. I threaten to deactivate my account every couple of weeks or so. When I first started with it I was gung ho and thought it was cool, now I've come to realize most of my family and friends are annoying, and Facebook brings out the narcissist in everyone.

Of course there are exceptions, and for those good folks I stay on there, that and I'm nosy.

I never bothered to open an account on Facebook or Myspace. Just never interested me, and I thought that there was to much information being put out there. :)P

--I use an alternate address for the facebook account, not connected to my
private address that I use for relatives and close friends.
I was surprised to receive an email from Facebook to my private address stating that the people listed in the message were requesting me to join Facebook. One of the people supposedly making this request was "ME" .
Also, two of the other people were from my personal contact address list
associated with my private email address.

So, ---they falsely said I requested myself to join facebook and be a friend.
Secondly, they listed two names, from my private contacts, that they suggested might want me as a friend, even though I was unaware that they might be members of facebook and had no contact with them via facebook
and the alternate email address and the pseudo name.

I too have a pseudo name in FB. So I was really surprised when I received an email asking me to do the same.

Throw that email request away. It's a spoof or sniffer. Someone's contact list (in FB, Yahoo, Hotmail, GMail, etc) was likely compromised and they got your email address that way.

I like Facebook but can certainly respect those that do not. I guess that it is not for everyone. :)

I like to keep up with what is going on with my cousins up North as well as other family members and friends. It is nice being able to keep in touch. :)

As far as security goes, I have my settings strictly set and I am really not concerned with privacy. I do not click links that look suspicious and I'm not into alot of the other apps that require you to allow them access to personal info. I do know that Facebook is far from perfect and there is always the possibility of my info leaking. But like I said, privacy really is not an issue for me.

I also enjoy playing a few of the Facebook games and do so on a regular basis. :)

:hyst: :hyst: :hyst: I would say you are addicted to the games. I went to show my boss Paxton and I was like omg and had to scroll a bit to get to him :hyst:

My two cents on FB. I enjoy it because I keep in touch. My grandma even has a FB so it is nice to send her a message quick if I don't have the chance to call her or whatever. I am also nosy so that keeps me occupied haha. I have my privacy settings set strict so you can't see anything unless we are buddies. Also for privacy it is what you put out there really too. You can add as much or as little info to your page. Ean has FB and a majority of his friends are from EC haha. :D

I....um.......might be a little addicted.

There is a way that you can block the game posts from showing up if they get too aggravating. :)

It's not aggravating lol just funny cause showing off Paxton was held in suspense because of numerous game apps :D
Okay :D :thumb:

I know that it would be aggravating to me if I wasn't a gamer and I block some of the games that I do not play from the news feed. :)

Getting back to Facebook and the privacy concern, I have a number of people on my friends list that I associate with primarily because they play the games with me. I run two lists, a family and friends list and a games list. I have my privacy settings set to where those that are games friends only do not have access to any of my personal info or pictures.

My wife is addicted to facebook, says it's so she can keep in touch with her old school friends, but I must admit that I will NEVER open a facebook/twitter/whateverelse is the latest fashion account.

Indeed this is now the main forum that I post on, and I'm a member of 6,, 2 of which I've never posted on

EC has clearly passed FB in my internet usage. FB is my homepage but I clearly go to EC right after it opens. Well haha this is sad but I won't make EC my homepage because usually I sit on EC for a good hour before moving onto something else. I force myself to check all my other stuff before landing here so I know it is done aka email accounts, bank, or whatever else. :D

I have plenty of concerns about it. Security at Facebook is terrible. I know too many people that got infected with fake virus protection while exploring Facebook. I almost got infected several times. Luckily I know what the fakes look like and what to do when they first pop up. Because of this, I now only use FB's basic features...
