I have not heard or read anything on this site regarding an issue like this before so you might not get a lot of replies.
Have you tried taking it to a mechanic? If you don't want to do that, have you tried posting your issue in any Hybrid specific message boards? They might be better able to assist you. I know Colleen belongs to one. Maybe she can point you to it.
