I have a few questions about fog lights.

I'm considering one of two things:

Putting "real" fog light bulbs (yellow) or replacing the lights and putting these in their place:

Ideas? Have any of y'all done this?

Btw, is there another type of bulb that fits besides the 898's?

EDIT: Just found out that according to Ford, it should use an H1 bulb.

Hi

I've just had the pleasure of replacing the fog lights on my 2004 Maverick (UK version of the Escape). The PIAA lights are very nice units, however I wonder if they will fit into the strange shaped bracket mounted on the inside of the bumper cover which the original lights are mounted on?

A slightly cheaper option to fitting new lights might be to fit some film over the light lenses. This stuff is available from racing/rally suppliers here in the UK (http://www.Lamin-X.co.uk)
But I know there are many other suppliers in the US as well. The film is claimed to protect the lenses from stone damage (maybe!) and it is available in shades other than clear (which is what I've just fitted). I know Lamin-X do smoke shades and yellow. It cost me about £10 (approx $15) to get clear film for my fog lights and this included shipping and taxes. Easy to apply and really can't be seen, which is the effect I was looking for.

regards

Taff
