My 2014 Escape 1.6L Titanium has been throwing the old "Engine Fault, Service Engine" light. However, when the reader is used there are no codes. The message goes away after restarting the car. It seems to be happening every other time the car is driven. I searched here and found the thread below:

I was wondering if anyone had tried this fix themselves. My car is way beyond the warranty period and I would rather not take it to a dealer if I can help it.
