Fun Runs and Member Meetings

13814 Views 90 Replies 20 Participants Last post by  jpark
Here is a meeting place to discuss and plan Fun Runs and such get togethers, past and present.

2 years ago several members of our city met in Orlando for a weekend of rides, car shows, good meals and conversation. It was a blast and an experience I'm sure will be repeated in the near future. If you find members in your area that want to go cruising, off roading, whatever, it can be a very good time and it is nice to put a face to the names and share escape stories!

Security Note: As I said we had a great meeting with several escapes and members coming together for a mutually great time, but the internet is a vast and sometimes dangerous place, so anytime you meet someone you only know from chats on-line, use common sense and due caution. We want yah back with good stories and pics.

Have you ever read anything about them? I have 3 or 4 different books about them that are great! LOVE those guys. I was always partial to Moe and Shemp.

Yes! Shemp is a close second to Moe in my mind. Highly under rated in my opinion. I no longer have any Stooge books, but in years back, there were a few on my book shelf. I content myself with "Stooge-a-Palooza" on Saturday nights here in Chicago on WCIU channel 26. The host Rich Koz, is an ardent Stoogephile.

I collect the DVDs when I see them around, as well. Although I've probably seen every short and most of their movies lots of times, I never get tired of them.

It's funny to read about their real lives versus the characters they played. Moe was the serious one that took care of the others and made them save their money. Love those guys!!! :)^
I liked Shemp! I thought Moe was a meanie. :taz:

His character was rather...uh...forceful. However, in reality he was kind and very fatherly toward all of the others.

I liked the "new" Curly better then the original.
I stumbled onto this site a couple of years ago; took me a while on Google to rediscover it tonight.

It's a nice look into the kindly personality of Moe Howard.

Thanks for the link!!! :D
Ok, back on track guys. Enough with the jibba jabba foos!

Lets find a place and stuff to do that we can all enjoy, THEN lets decide on a date! I am thinking sometime around August/September. That will give some of us time to put some nice little upgrades on our 'scapes then take some time off work and what not.

So first off, who has any good ideas where we can beat on our Escapes for a little bit?

Well...uh...if you want to attend the annual Florida Fun Run...it'll be in...mmm...Florida! Namely, Central Florida.
Any time (as of now) after Labor-Day and before Halloween!!! Is good for me. Daughter is coming too. :thumb:
P.S. May have to leave a day or so earlier for a stop in Texas. (to meet our yellow rose) :)

Wouldn't be better to have the "yellow rose" come to Florida to meet the rest of us and join in the fun? Come on, use your manly powers of persuasion on her. :shades:

Why thank you! ........smart ***. I didn't know it was only a Florida thing. ;)

Anyway, so what are the plans as far as what we are going to do when we get there?

Always glad to oblige; and thanks for the compliment! :shades:

It hasn't really been discussed yet, but will include a day at Epcot, probably the car show at Old Town and maybe a free day or some other event depending on what's going on in town. But that isn't set in stone - except the Epcot part. There's this beer in the German Pavilion and in the UK Pavilion thingy that they guys always like.
Well then.....let us discus this most wonderful event!
