The really scary thing is that GM's stock closed this afternoon at $1.86 per share. In other words, one share of GM will cost you a gallon of gas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For what its worth, Ford closed at $1.82 per share.

What is this country coming to????????????

All those dollars that they paid to Fiat to get out of their partnership deal are starting to look pretty good now. :bang: To think they just handed over an incredible amount of money to the Italians to get away from them :spank: . And now, Chrysler is going to benefit from the monies spent on Fiat by GM  . Nevermind that the new Ford mini is based on the new Fiat 500.

Ford looks like it'll be fine.

I just read that in the 1990s, Chrysler was the most efficient and most profitable (per vehicle) carmaker in the world. A huge difference from what it is now - the runt of the Big Three.

Fascinating. Will be interesting to see, what the american bosses decide, for the australian division of GM which is HOLDEN. The sth.australian assembly plant is located in a northern plains suburb. This place is known as ' Elizabeth'. The holden factory, has gone through severe restructuring. Plus they retrenched a lot of people.

There has not been much on the media ,about this ' HOLDEN ' factory in elizabeth. At the moment they are producing a small car. It appears this new model, is meant to help the firm get out of a tight spot. From what i comprehend it is a four cylinder. I would like to hazard a guess. In the event GM declares bankruptcy, can imagine this will drastically effect, the South australian ' Holden ' car assembly workers.

The bosses in japan, decided to close down the former ' MITSUBISHI ' factory in " Tonsley Park " Adelaide.
