In my new to me Escape, that I haven't even made a payment on....

I was at the stop sign waiting for traffic to thin out so I could pull out, I noticed a guy on his cell phone and a POS Hundai pull up behind me, I was waiting for the traffic and I felt Anubis lurch, as I was glancing in my rear view. I saw his car come to a sudden stop and he looked up from his phone conversation like WTF.... So I pulled thru the stop and stopped on the shoulder, assuming that he would stop behind me.

THE PIECE OF :censor: JUST DROVE BY ME, STILL GABBING ON HIS EFFING' PHONE.....

So I took off after him, took me five miles to catch him, and when he pulled over. He had the nerve to say that he didn't hit me.

I almost hit him.... :cuss:

There was no real major damage to Anubis (I think it hurt his more than it hurt mine), but it still made me madder than a dog spitting stickers that he didn't even have the brains to stop..

I am still wishing bad things on him.....

I had that happen, but the girl actually stopped. She wasn't on her phone from what I could tell though. Just slid into me. Glad she had a car and not an suv. She just bounced off. I had it checked out to make sure nothing under the bumper got pushed in or anything. I am very protective of Ean as you are your Escape. Glad it was minor.

Glad there was no damage. That still sucks. A couple of weeks before I bought Red, I was driving my leased Fusion and I was rear ended. That was the first time I have ever been hit while driving a car. The second time... 3 days later, I was rear ended in the loaner car I had while they were working on my Fusion. I couldn't believe it.

Well you named it Anubis, the worst [email protected]$$ alien on Stargate. I'd want to run you over too.

That sucks man, he got off lucky. I'd probably called the police and had them assist in pulling him over. I think here in KY he would have got a ticket just for leaving the scene. I hate those types that talk on the phone and run about oblivious to the world.

One time a guy backed into me at a stop light. He stalled his Subaru, and it went rolling back as he tried to start it. I backed all I could, but I had cars behind me, so I put soft pressure on the brake to cushion him, and stopped and held him there while he got going. We pulled over, and inspected our vehicles. No damage, as he backed into my brush guard, and it has rubber on the push bar center, it was his and my lucky day that I had a bar.

As long as YOU ARE ALRIGHT, that what matters. Did you take down his info just in case? It may take a day for you to feel any injuries, if not already felt. Ughh people and being un-responsible. Happened to me in my first ride, some lady was gabbbing away on her cell and did even see traffic stop and with out missing a beat on her cell phone ran into me.

+1. I would've been on the phone with the cops and told them about the hit and run (although it would be somewhat ironic, since it was a guy talking on a phone that caused the accident in the first place :) )

In Iowa, I think it's like $500 or $1000 for leaving the scene. Glad to hear you're okay.

Happened to me too. Getting rear-ended, that is. The other driver admitted to cause as soon as it happened and her insurance basically handled the entire ordeal, including my dealership body shop repair. I needed a new bumper reinforcement and beam... $1,000 parts and labor. But, as oskerb said... hope you got his information. To be honest, I would try to get it in as a hit and run.

I can honestly say that cell phones (surprisingly) aren't the dumbest reason for having an accident.

High school seniors with an IQ of about 70 are.

My Five Hundred back in the day (and three months old ) got smashed in a chain reaction accident. The cause: one person had dropped something in his car, and thought it intelligent to keep the car's gas to the floor WHILE LOOKING DOWN, rear ending another vehicle, forcing it into my side. When the police arrived, he received two citations, and in fact, the officer had a hard time piecing the bizarre accident together. I think even he was surprised at the kid's stupidity.

He hid from his own insurance company for three days while my car sat in the garage with a busted side. (To the Fiver's credit, there was no penetration to the passenger cabin, didn't blow the airbags, and didn't give me much more than a rocking in the accident.) Then, the Curse of the Five Hundred began, and random things failed after that.

The quote of the afternoon: "Is this a new car?" "It was..."

HAAA! If they all have sync....
"Call Emily."

"Call Erin, is that correct?"

"No."

"SYNC. Please say a command."

"Call Emily."

"Call Joey, is that correct?"

"THAT'S NOT EVEN FREAKING CLOSE"

"I'm sorry, I didn't understand you. Please say yes or no."

"No."

"SYNC. Please say a command."

"FOR THE LOVE OF GOD JUST CALL EMILY YOU STUPID PIECE OF-"

*crash*

"SYNC will now attempt to call 911. To cancel this call, press and hold the phone button."

Not always what it's cracked up to be. :D

I had a driver back up into me while trying to leave a parallel parking space, then claim she felt nothing and "I don't think I hit you!" She got a lengthy verbal lesson on how to drive, how to back up properly, and the difference between using brakes and being stopped by an external force.

I was also hit on a major highway and had the driver take off. He rolled up and started tailgating me, then decided to try and pass on the right. What dummy didn't know was that I was in the left lane because the right lane was about to end. He didn't have time to pass me and instead merged into the Escort. Took off weaving through traffic, looking back and laughing. Too bad we have something called a licence plate. Called up my insurance company the next day, and I think it took less than 24 hours to deem me not at fault. Between that and the police report...good luck with the insurance rates, buddy.

I also had a Porsche back into me while I was parked in downtown Toronto, waiting to start my shift. Probably could have milked that guy for some repairs...too bad I'm nice.

I'm really glad talking and texting have been made illegal here in Ontario for this very reason.
I just wish the law was enforced a little more, I still see tons of people on their phones while driving, and to make matters worse they try to hide the fact that they are texting by hold the phone low on their lap making them look down and away from the road more often. :cuss:
